Smart Waste Collection.

The planned route is compared against the actual path of the vehicles, and the institution finally gets the figure it lacks today: how much of the district was covered, at what time and with what deviations. Residents check their schedule, follow the vehicle on the map and report a critical point, all from a browser.

Residents install nothing. Crews record evidence even with no signal.

The starting point

A service paid for every month that cannot be verified

Waste collection is the most visible municipal service and the one that leaves the least evidence. When a resident complains that the truck never came, the institution has nothing to answer with: a paper route sheet, a driver who says he did pass, and no record to settle it. Without that evidence there is no way to sustain a collection fee, justify sorting at source, or answer an oversight body.

For residents

No download, from any phone

Access is a web address. Requiring an app download just to find out when the truck comes leaves much of the population out, and it is why this kind of service stays a curiosity instead of becoming a service everyone uses.

The schedule, by address

Day, time slot and waste type that apply to the registered address.

The vehicle on the map

Live tracking of the vehicle assigned to that route, with the time of its last report.

Proximity notice

Sent when the vehicle approaches the registered point, using the radius the institution defines per zone.

Delay notice

If the route has not started or is running late, the notice goes out anyway and prevents waste being put out for nothing.

Critical point report

A photo and a location are enough to open the case. Residents can see what state it ended in.

The preferred channel

Notices by messaging, email or browser notification, and also for those without a smartphone.

For the institution

The whole service operation in a single panel

Zones, routes and frequencies are managed by the institution, with effective dates. Changing a zone boundary is an edit in the panel, not a request to the provider.

Zones and routes with effective dates

Every boundary change is dated, and history is not lost when the service is reorganized.

Frequencies by day and time slot

Including waste type, which is what makes separate collection possible.

Daily assignment

Route, vehicle and driver by date, the record that later backs up any complaint.

Report handling

Each critical point with a status, an owner and a resolution. Reports about the same spot are consolidated into one case.

Crew evidence

Crews on the route record what they serviced with a photo and a location. It works without signal and syncs on reconnect.

Exportable reports

Coverage, punctuality and cases, ready for the accountability report.

Planned against executed

The indicator that turns a service into demonstrable management

Every working day leaves a measured run: what share of the route was covered, when each stretch was passed, what was skipped and which complaints were handled. That comparison is the difference between buying software and buying oversight, and it is what an authority can show each month against the month before.

How it is rolled out

In phases, and each phase delivers something that works

A small municipality does not need to buy everything in the first year. The scope is agreed with the institution before the first line is written, based on the district's real zones and routes.

Survey

Real zones, routes and frequencies, plus the complaint handling flow agreed with the department in charge. Without this step, the system is built on assumptions.

Go live

The institution's panel, a public portal with schedules and live tracking, schedule and proximity notices, critical point reports and crew evidence.

Fine measurement

Arrival estimates based on the history of each stretch, automatic classification of report photos and a publishable compliance dashboard.

Weighing, container fill sensors and dynamic routing remain a conditional phase: they depend on third-party equipment and are quoted separately, never inside the base scope.

Data protection

A resident's collection point is their home

And it is treated as such by design. No ID number or name is required to receive a notice, a phone number is stored only if that channel is chosen, and opting out is immediate. The institution sees information aggregated by neighborhood, not a map of who lives where. Faces and license plates in report photos are blurred before they reach the panel, and facial recognition is not applied at any point. All in line with Ecuador's Organic Law on Personal Data Protection.
